My Name Is Mike

I am a part of the Karen Hill tribe. My parents are rice farmers in Mae Jok (where I was born), a small village north of Chiang Mai near the Myanmar border. When I was 14, I received foreign support for a university education in Tourism, which enabled me to fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a tour guide. I want to share the beauty of my home village, the surrounding jungle, the local culture, the food. For the past five years I have been guiding visitors from across the globe through the untouched jungles, picturesque waterfalls, and traditional villages of my native land, via trekking and rafting through the calm Thai river waters on hand-made rafts. I hope to provide a safe and truly authentic experience for all my guests, constantly optimizing the experience based on guest feedback.
